Arthur K Maderson (b1942)
Arthur Maderson is a contemporary artist who was born in London, 1942 and takes influence from French Impressionists such as Monet. He attended the Camberwell School of Art where he won the prestigious Anna Berry Award. It wasn’t until the age of 40 that he felt confident enough to share his work, but from 1983 on wards he began exhibiting widely throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe and US.
He has been presented with various awards, including the Royal West of England Academy Cornelissen Award for ‘Most Distinguished Painting’ (1987) and the Royal Hibernian Academy Abbey Studio Award for ‘Most Distinguished Picture’ (1993).
Along with painting, Maderson worked as an art therapist at Park Prewett Psychiatry Hospital in Hampshire.
